This is a collaboration with KANIKA’s CSR “PURELY GOOD” Campaign which aims to raise awareness of institutions in Malaysia that desperately need aids and assistance during the MCO lockdown. One of them is called Shepherd’s Centre Foundation. They have foster homes located in Semenyih and Bukit Beruntung that shelter over 80 orphans and underprivileged children in Malaysia. The inspiration comes from the children.

Original Sketch Illustration
Tote Bag Design MockUp

Since I couldn’t physically pay a visit to the Shepherd’s Centre Foundation due to movement restrictions, I used references of children (representing the three major ethnic groups in Malaysia: Malay, Chinese, and Indian) for my hand sketches. Then I converted the hand sketches into digital vector files using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. After creating the digital vector, I was able to keep the hand sketch style and edit the artwork’s colors for different design mock ups. The final versions presented to the clients included both light and dark versions.

Here’s what the client had to say about this collaboration:

“A young passionate & talented artist & designer. Stephanie Ting helps KANIKA in her creative & unique inspiring hand drawings. Drawn with heart, purely good, the masterpiece tells story of life. ”
